Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire
In my divorce agreement I have sole custody of my 15 year old daughter. But she has the right to decide whether to visit her father or not. Her father is a drug addict and a drunk as is his sister who is 41 and her boyfriend who is 21. (ya, cradle robber, I know). they live in a campground with her 3 other kids in a small camper. They all take drugs and drink over there and I know they give alcohol and drugs (pot mostly, some pills) to the kids that hang out there. Recently my daughter wants to go visit there. She has never been over there before and I'm wondering if we can be held responsible if we let her go over there. Like I said...in my divorce agreement the judge gave her the option of visiting or not without interference from me. Please help me. These decisions could haunt her the rest of her life....I've told her that and now its come down to us constantly fighting about it. Thank you

Since this is a first visit, perhaps both you and your daughter might go over to visit together for lunch or dinner. That way you can monitor her level of comfort. Otherwise, you're likely going to either have to give your daughter the skills to monitor the situation herself, or go back to court to address the concerns your have raised.
