Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire

Need a divorce in Massachussetts while residing in New Hampshire

I have been recently separated from my wife who has retained the custody of my child and I am facing the teethig problems of separation. The situation has a strong probability in culminating in divorce.

When I left I had nothing with me but the shirt on my back and an overdrawn bank balance as well as some delinquent credit accounts. I currently live with my cousins in New Hampshire. I lived in Massachussetts for four years. My estranged wife and my son are still in Mass.

Is there any legal services for low income individuals available in New Hampshire where I can seek help getting a divorce in Massachussetts?

Since your wife and your child are both in Massachusetts, I believe you will need the assitance of a Massachusetts attorney. You should contact the Massachusetts Bar Association to see what they offer for low-income persons in need of legal assistance. I don't think that the New Hampshire Bar can do much to help since the applicable law would be Massachusetts.
