Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire

which forms?

Hi, I'm looking for the forms for uncontested divorce. Not sure if I need the combo package or just that one form.

Also need to know if these forms are mailed to me or downloaded so I can just fill them out and print them.

And does these forms tell you what to do with them after they are all filled out......

I'd appreciate any help....

A little confused

Re: which forms?

Even an uncontested divorce can be complicated. There are a series of forms needed. First is the Petition for Divorce. Will you be filing alone or as a Joint Petition. Then you'll need financial affidavits for each party. Next you'll need a Decree of Final Divorce (Stipulation), a Vital Statistics form, Personal Data Sheet, and, if there are children, a Parenting Plan and a Uniform Support Order. Depending upon your personal circumstances there may be a need for further documents.

Depending upon how the assets are titled there may be a need for deeds, adjustments in retirement assets and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDRO) to address pension issues.

As harsh as it may sound, you are well advised to consult with an attorney. Getting a divorce has significant legal implications. Doing it yourself is somewhat like going into Home Depot and buing lots of power tools with the intent of building a house while not knowing how to use the tools properly. The divorce forms are a starting point, not the finish line.
