grandparants rights
we would line to take our one year old grandchild out for a few hours at least twice a month. The father of this child has been in New Hampshire state prison for the last three months. (my Son .) He would love to see his son
My daughter-in-law won't let me take our grandson to see his dad.

This type of situation may be addressed in court. Unfortunately, it's not clear what the court would do as far as overruling Mom's method of raising her child. Dad could also petition the court for visitation and ask that you be designated as the one to provide transportation for the visits.
Although there are some forms available on the court web site, it is often better to have the assistance of an attorney.

You will need to file a petition with the court to request grandparent visitation to permit you to take your grandchild to the prison for visits. Many grandparents have been successful in doing this. You can obtain all the court forms to do this at the NH court website: www.courts.state.nh.us. What type of crime your son is incarcerated for and the length of time he will be in prison will be factors in the case, but typically, if you will be the ones to bring your grandchild the courts will permit it.
