motion for reconsideration

my ex-wife filed a motion for reconsideration. she would like me to pay her legal fees that have not been awarded. She has been denied. her reconsideration states that it was prepared by a lawyer, but is not signed by a lawyer. Is this legal?

The answer is, "yes." A client may employ an attorney on a limited basis to prepare a pleading or document. The document must have the statement you referenced so that the court knows there was legal assistance provided. However, you ex-wife is on her own as far as backing up the pleading with proper court procedure and substance to support her motion. The majority of Motions for Reconsideration are denied. You might benefit from visiting with an attorney who can review all of the pleadings, the status of the case, and provide you with more complete information as to your legal rights.
