motion for reconsideration
my ex-wife filed a motion for reconsideration. she would like me to pay her legal fees that have not been awarded. She has been denied. her reconsideration states that it was prepared by a lawyer, but is not signed by a lawyer. Is this legal?

The answer is, "yes." A client may employ an attorney on a limited basis to prepare a pleading or document. The document must have the statement you referenced so that the court knows there was legal assistance provided. However, you ex-wife is on her own as far as backing up the pleading with proper court procedure and substance to support her motion. The majority of Motions for Reconsideration are denied.
