Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire
Move out of state with child
For various compelling reasons, I would like to relocate out-of-state with my child. My child's father and I share legal custody, but I have sole physical custody. What are the laws regarding a parent with physical custody moving out-of-state?

Hi & Thanks for Writing -
My name is Len Foy and I'm an attorney with Gould & Gould in Londonderry NH.
The laws regarding taking a minor child out-of-state are complicated, and constantly evolving. There is recently-enacted legislation in New Hampshire governing this very subject.
If you're interested, I can offer you a free consultation, our office telephone is (603) 434-3437. I wouldn't recommend leaving the state until you have a court order permitting you to do so - otherwise you could wind up with legal problems.
I hope to hear from you -
