Receipts

A family member owes child support for his child. He does not have the money so I am going to help him out and pay it this time. Because it is my money can I ask for receipts showing what my money was spent on?

You may request a receipt from the family member (payor)to whom you loan or give the money. However, you can not request recieipts or any other documentation from the (payee) recipient of the funds under court order. Child support is not something which the receiving parent is required to account for usage. Furthermore, you have no direct relationship (legally) to the end recipient of the funds. The court order controls.

No.

If you lend money to this family member, you can get a recipt from them, not from whoever they give the money to.
