Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire

restraining order

I recently had a restaining order placed on me by someone who was guilty of the same things. I want to know if there is anything that can be done to change it. Would an appeal serve a purpose? I have evidence that she is just as guilty. Any help would be nice.

Re: restraining order

As a lawyer I can tell you that there is no 'stigma' to a restraining order.

You may apply to have one against the person you mention at any time.

However, the order has been made and only a showing of 'necessity' will get it revoked. The judge will ask, 'so, why do you want to be near this person?' In the absence of 'necessity', the judge will say 'the order is for your good, also. after all, you are not impaired by the order. What kind of business do you have or want with this other person?'.
