Legal Question in Medical Leave in New Hampshire
Paternity Leave
Can a husband take time off for the birth of a child from the day of birth on for two weeks?
Or do I need to ask for two weeks of in advance around my wife's due date without really knowing if that is when the baby will be born?

Re: Paternity Leave
While I offer no legal opinion because of the limited facts, typically, if you qualify for FMLA leave (1250 hours + one year of service) then you are entitled to leave. You should give advance written notice of your intended leave, and indicate that this is an estimate and may change. You are required to give 30 days advance notice unless the circumstance is unforeseeable. This info should have been made available to you either in a handbook or in a poster.
