Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Hampshire

Do I have recourse regarding dentist's work?

OK, short and sweet I had a crown put on a molar. When shaped by the dentist, he took too much off the front of the crown, and despite the crown leaving a large gap between it and the tooth in front of it; he proceeded to cement it into place. I was then informed that a build-out would be done to the tooth in front of the new $800 crown at no cost to me naturally. I have had to have this done twice to date Novocain, drilling and all which I loathe (who doesnt?). There are still gaps between not only the crown and the tooth, but also between that tooth and the one in front of it now due to the drilling and filling exercise. I have been quoted by another dentist $700 + for an inlay over the tooth in front of the crown which would fill in the gaps created by the dentist. If he refuses to reimburse me for the crown, or to do the inlay free of charge, do you think I can sue him? Thank you.

Possibly, but to prove malpractice you would have to have an expert (another dentist) testify that the work done on you did not meet medical standards. Your dentist could say this was the best he could do because of some unique problem with your teeth.
