Legal Question in Health Care Law in New Hampshire

Can I gain personal access to my medical records?

Regarding my records and those of my children and husband. When I moved from NH to NC I was told by NH physicians I cannot obtain my records but had to pay a fee to have copies of them sent to new phys (did that). When moving from NC to IL I had the same experience. Now in IL I find much of records missing, children had to receive immunizations again because of missing info etc... Now I have to get records from IL dr. to new IL dr. after move. Can I write to all dr.s and have copies sent to me. Some extensive testing was done for my son in NH I feel records should be to new dr. etc...

Re: Can I gain personal access to my medical records?

You should ask your question of someone in NH, as those are the doctors who lost the records. Yes, you are entitled to a copy of your records, for payment of a fee, and you have rights if they are not provided.
