Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Hampshire
H-2b to green card
Hi..I entered USA on H-2b visa in 2003 and got 2 more extensions..my current visa expires on may 2005 but than right now I got a job in my own area of expertise,ie Indian cook..Now I left my H-2b employer and my current employer has filed I-485 for me..Labour is already approved..so what will be my H-2b status...will it be finished the day I-485 comes into action or what...? Am I in legal status during the I-485 filing...?
What if within 6 montrhs I did'nt get a visa number...?
Please let me know as soon as possible..thankss

Re: H-2b to green card
Once you leave your H2B job, you are not in H2B status anymore. If your I-485 was timely filed (while you were in valid H2B status), then you can legally stay in the US until the I-485 is finally adjudicated.
