Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Hampshire
Damages awarded
A 12 year old kid on the school bus with my son tripped over his foot supposedly while getting off the bus. As a result we are being sued. I have 3,000,000 dollars in coverage on my home owners insurance. If this is not settled out of court and a award is given over 3,000,000 and I can not pay will I loose everything I own. I should say the bank owns.

Unlikely although it is possible
Given that there is that much coverage available to satisfy the judgment, (and I am assuming that the insurance company is defending and will pay the judgment) it is extremely unlikely that an award in excess of 3,000,000 would be given by a jury. The injuries would have to very serious indeed to get to that level.
It is possible that an excess judgment could affect you, but your son is probably the defendant and probably does not have many assets if he was riding the school bus to school. (He is young without property etc.)
Talk to the attorney representing you know about your concerns. That attorney has a duty to be honest with you about the possibility of an excess judgment. Good luck.
