Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Hampshire
Death by car accident
My husband's Grandfather was killed by a cement truck that ran a red light. He was 91 years old. My Mother-in-law has been told that it would not be worth suing, and she is waiting for the cement company's insurance company to offer a sum. what do you think?

Based on the short amount of facts presented, I would say that there is a valid basis, at the least, to sue the driver of the cement truck and the owner of the cement truck. Feel free to e-mail me for a free consultation.

I do not know who gave your mother-in-law that advice, but it seems suspect. In any case, you are a long way from a lawsuit. But that does not mean you should ignore the valid and substantial insurance claims against the driver and owner of the cement truck (and perhaps the deceaseds own auto insurer).
Just because a person has lived many years does not mean that their death is unimportant or valueless. The survivors have their own emotional losses, and those too must be accounted.
I suggest the next-of-kin seek legal help to be sure the persons at fault for this tragic event are held to account one way or another.
Re: Death by car accident
The death of a person is not diminished by their age. While you are a long way from a lawsuit, be advised that the insurance company is not in business to fairly compensate victims; their mandate is to defend and represent their insured (cement company) and minimize payouts in order to maximize shareholder value --They represent only one side (their driver) in an adversarial system.
