Buying a House from a Grand-father

My Grand-Father owns a house, which he lives in with his 'Girl-Friend' of 18 years. He wishes to sell the house to me and kick the 'Girl-Friend' out. He has been bedridden for three years and she has taken care of him to a degree. She refuses to clean the house and it is impossible move from his bedroom to the door without moving boxes. We (The Family) fear of fire or other emergency. I was wondering since there is no Common-Law-Marriages in New Hampshire if she would have any legal grounds preventing my purchase of the house.

If only your grandfather's name is on the deed and he is still competent, he can transfer the home to just you or to protect him he can transfer it to both himself and you as joint tenants with rights of survivorship.

Don't try to do it yourself. Get a lawyer because the girlfriend is not going to be happy.
