Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Hampshire

covenant of homeowners association unclear re: renting

covenant: ''the premises conveyed or any buildings now or to be erected

thereon shall not at any time be used for the purpose of any trade,

business, manufacture or commercial use of any kind.'' does this

covenant forbid renting of one's primary or secondary home? is renting

one's home considered a business? what if you have to move and the

house remained unsold? would this covenant forbid renting or having a

caretaker for as long as it takes for the home to be sold? could new

buyers who can't move in right away rent it out or have a caretaker until

they become permanent residents?

Re: covenant of homeowners association unclear re: renting

It does not sound like that covenant refers to renting as a business; if you read the rest of your covenants and restrictions there is probably another section that deals with renting your unit.
