Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Hampshire

joint tenants with sole survivorship

My boyfriend and I recently purchased a piece of property. I paid for the land and he's developing it. He has many moments of anger and threatens to end our relationship. Both names are on the deed, but I can prove that I've paid for everything. If we split up what is my recouse should he 'squat' on the land and intimidate me to stay away? Thank you

Re: joint tenants with sole survivorship

You have a problem. If he does not want to leave he does not have to. As of now, he has as much right to occupy the property as you do. If you cannot negotiate a settlement, you might have to go to court for a Petition to Partition.
