Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Hampshire

I recently moved into a house that was for rent and paid $500 for the rent now the owners want more rent for the month of march. The Lease was signed on March 4, 2011. Can they do this?

If you have a lease then you will be subject to the terms in the Lease. Whatever the lease says for rental amounts will be what needs to be paid. You will also need to pay attention to the terms in the Lease that state how the Landlord is able to increase the rent and when. If the Lease is a month-to-month then the Landlord can raise the rent in April or with 30 days notice.
