Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Hampshire

Rights of Possession

Someone wants to store potentially valuable items in my home. Wants a stipulation that in case of death, the items are to belong to me and in case of my death, the items are to go back to original owner. I am not a family member but the original owner does have heirs. The owner does not have a will and does not want one but does want a contract between us. Is there a legal form for this sort of thing other than a will?

Thank you.

Re: Rights of Possession

A contract could be drafted but since the items are valuable I urge you to have an attorney do it. If you do an agreement, who keeps the original? How will the relatives know where the items are? Also, if you do not give up the items, the relatives will have to sue you.

Your friend should consider a will with the origianl remaining at his attorney's office. That way his wishes are much more likely to be enforced.
