Legal Question in Social Security Law in New Hampshire

Correcting Social Security Card

My name on my social security card was misspelled for many years and it is time it is corrected. Do I simply bring my card, birth certificate, and other forms of identification to the local social security office to correct it? Should I call ahead and schedule an appointment?

Yes, just bring your card and birth certificate and current photo id. The person at the front desk can handle this matter quite easily. No appointment is necessary. This is a routine matter.

For the NH local office nearest you, you can use the Social Security office locator: https://s044a90.ssa.gov/apps6z/FOLO/fo001.jsp
