Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Hampshire

Am i entitled or legally bound to my grandfathers estate?

My father passed away 9 months before my grandfather. We only have one

other living family member, my fathers brother. My grandfather never had a

will, but i believe that he had life insurance and he also had many assetts and

a home. My uncle and I have no relationship and he has not contacted me at

all regarding my grandfathers estate. I am the only heir to my father and the

only grandchild to my grandfather. He only had two sons and no other

immediate family members. Am i entitled to any of his estate on behalf of my

father or even just because i am his granddaughter? Also, since i am one of

his only two surviving heirs, am i legally bound to his propert, if something

ever happened to it? Thank you so much for your time, i'm just tired of

losing sleep over wondering too much about this and i'd like to put it behind

me and move on.

If there is no will, you likely would be entitled to your father's share. You should search the probate records of the county where he passed away or get an attorney to do so. Why do you believe he had a life insurance policy? Did he have property?
