Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Hampshire
Estate dispersion without a will
A friend of my Nana's just passed away. He did not have a will or anything of that nature. He owned a house, however my Nana's name is on the deed on the house as well. There seems to be some confusion as to whether the house will pass on to his children, or whether it will go to my Nana free and clear as the last living name on the deed. Also curious as to whether the house is subject to medical expenses and/or bills he may have left outstanding (he passed on suddenly due to lung cancer).

Re: Estate dispersion without a will
It depends upon how the deed is written; whether it was a joint tenants or tenants in common.
Likewise whether the house is an asset of the estate or goes directly to a joint tenant will depend upon the deed.
