Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Hampshire

My father passed away last month and left a will. He had a revocable trust set up and a number of his accounts are in the trust name. I am the trustee now. The banks are asking for a notarized certificate of trust. What is this form? Can I just supply a copy of the will? I am probating his house as there are five children. Is this something that the law firm will obtain?

My condolences on your loss. The intersection of trust and probate is often confusing. The trust should have included all of his assets and thus you would have avoided probate completely. Generally all that is needed is an affidavit confirming your authority under the trust and a certified death certificate. You would likely benefit from meeting with an attorney to examine the will, probate documents and help you with trust administration.
