I am in the middle of a pretty tough guardianship case against my mother. Unfortunately she has won guardianship over my seven year old daughter. I am being told I am only allowed to see her for 1 hour a week supervised and now am being asked to pay child support. How after a year and a half of this guardianship being in effect do I go about not paying support and terminating the guardianship? I have followed all the guidelines. Go to each 1 hour visit, maintain a stable home, job, relationship, and vehicle, etc. I have maintained all with no problem as I did before this took place. Please help.

You may file a petition with the court requesting a reveiw hearing to determine if your vistation/contact rights should be increased or adjusted. You should clearly state the reasons and confirm that you have complied with each court imposed requirement. You should be prepared to show that increased contact would be beneficial to the child. As always, these are significant issues and you would be well advised to hire an attorney to help you through the process.
