Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey
collection agency
a coll. agency that has my account
for a delinquent credit card from
BANK OF AMERICA gave my
personal info/account info to a
person they contacted @ 9:15 am
on Sunday, looking for me. What
are my rights, if any? I am very
angry this made a bad situation
much worse!!

If this debt is a debt incurred for family, personal or household purposes and the debt was in default, then it sounds like the collection agency violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). If so, then you may be entitled to statutory damages up to $1,000, any actual damages plus the agency would be responsible for your attorney's fees and costs.
