Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Did I waive my Bonus Pay?

I have a written contract that states I am to be paid a monthly bonus based on the gross $ Ibring into the business, if that amount exceeds a percentage of my monthly wages (that had been earned on hourly rate). I was never given a monthly bonus, and therefore assumed I was not owed one. 15 months after the contract began, I learned that I was actually owed a bonus in various months (starting in 2nd month). I that it be paid to me at that point, but was told that I waived my right to it by not asking sooner. Is this true?

Re: Did I waive my Bonus Pay?

No. You have a breach of contract action

under your employment contract as well as

a wage claim under the NJ wage payment law.

I would have serious concerns about working

for such an employer. Normally an employer

would be keeping track of bonus obligations.
