Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in New Jersey
Can the terms of a verdict be appealed without appealing the verdict.
If a person accepted a plea deal in a theft case with the provisions of the plea deal being probation with recompensation to the victim, can the amount be appealed without appealing the verdict. In other words, is there a way to contest the dollar amount without risking the probation sentence or would you have to appeal the entire verdict and go to trial?
