Legal Question in Banking Law in New Jersey
My parents lived in USA approx 16 years. Had a chase bank account here. Moved back home to uk but kept account open to give granddaughters birthday money. My dad passed 2 years ago and my mom passed 2 weeks ago, both in uk. How can I close the account as it is in their names? Can I do it or do I need a lawyer.

Write to the bank and be prepared to have them examine a death certificate. The bank will then make a determination -based on prior instructions from your parents- as who is the beneficiary on the account.
