How do I give power of attorney to a friend who will transact business for me?

There are any number of forms that can be used to grant a power of attorney depending on what kind of permissions you wish to give. Since this is a friend rather than a close relative and you are talking about doing business, you will want to be careful about what powers you give. If you have doubts, you should consult an attorney. Most attorneys will prepare a power of attorney to meet your particular needs for a nominal fee. You attorney can also tell you about any pitfalls in giving the powers that you propose.
