Social security checks

Can the state take your money out of the bank if your only means is your disability social security check for a student law from 15 years ago.

Social security payments are not subject to bank levy or any other form of attachment. If you have been notified that such a levy has been made, you should ask your lawyer to contact the court and file an objection to the levy with a certification and evidence from you that the funds arise from social security payments. Do so promptly because, if the money is released to the judgment creditor, you will not be able to undo the process.
