Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Jersey
Child Support discharge
My ex-husband filed bankruptsy he told me his 10,000.00 in back child support is being discharged in bankruptsy .Is child support arrears dischargeable in bankruptsy especially when he has a personal injury legal case pending settlement with a judgment against proceeds filed with his attorney by the judge in this case.

Child support is not dischargeable in bankruptcy proceedings. To be sure that this does not occur, however, you should seek the advice of an attorney. I will be happy to assist you.
