Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Jersey

is there financial life after bancruptcy

my friend's daughter's fiance has declared bancruptcy, this included losing a lease on a car, and we would like to know if after that:

Can he have a savings account?

can he have a checking account?

Will he ever be able to purchase a car?

They plan on getting married in 2 years, will they ever as a couple be able to have a mortgage? and what would those terms be?

in general how does this affect their financial future as a couple?

thanks

Re: There can be financial life after bancruptcy

There certainly can be financial life after bankruptcy. Its very purpose is to allow for a fresh start. As long as he pays his ongoing bills on time and does the other necessary things to re-establish good credit, eventually he should be okay. Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, before you take any further action, you should contact an attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. I will be happy to assist you. However, you need to call me at 856-546-8010.
