Re: my lawyer is trying to bill me for work she did not do for me
Very difficult to respond to your posting without more info. $13,000 is a lot of money in connection with a chapter 13 case, but can't be evaluated withhout knowing what was accomplished. Is the reason you are no longer in chapter 13 because the cause of your bankruptcy filing was resolved? For example, attorney obtained bankruptcy court approval for sale of your house, or a refinacing?
If, you actually have a valid reason to dispute the bill and as you say, "my lawyer is trying to bill me for work she did not do for me" and your bankrutpcy case is no longer pending you can call Office of Attorney Ethics at 8004068594 and request info about fee arbitration. They will be able to provide you info about it. That will be a good forum to air your grievance and get your dispute with respect to the fees resolved.
Good luck,
