Re: help

If you are claiming that an attorney committed legal malpractice, i.e. mishandled your bankruptcy case, then you need to find another attorney willing to represent you in that cause of action. If your bankruptcy attorney's negligence was severe enough, it may also amount to ethical violations which should be reported to the state bar association.

The practical issue is what are your damages, even if the bankruptcy case was mishandled? You don't give any details, but presumably, you filed a Chap. 7 liquidation because your debts greatly exceeded your assets and you had little likelihood of paying off your debts.

What, exactly, are your damages provably due to your attorney's alleged negligence? The answer to that question will determine how likely you will be able to find another attorney willing to proceed against your bankruptcy attorney. If there's not really a lot of money involved, it probably won't be worthwhile for a second attorney to get involved.
