Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Jersey

Iam an artist- I paint children's furniture. A store in NJ closed its doors and declared bankruptcy. I have a boucned check for work that i have done. I also had six pieces of my painted furniture in the store just as samples. The store is a franchise and I was told by the other store which was going to take over that whatever pieces that were mine he would give back to me as soon as he was able to get into the store. The store re-opened in Jan. without my knowlwdge and only called to give me a custom order to paint. I went to the store and found my items left in the store...for sale. Only four of the six items were left. The owner of the store called me and said that those items belonged to him because he bought them from the bankruptcy court. I filed a police report when all thisa happened and have documentation that those items are mine. The new store owner says he's going to put a petty larsony claim against me for ''stealing'' items from his store...these things belong to me! I want to know my legal rights before I call him back. I would appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks.

The answer depends on the contract that you had with the store regarding the items.

Reviewing the bankruptcy filing and the representations to the bankrutcy court will also be helpful.
