Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

I'm looking at investing in a franchise. Part of their business plan is to cultivate relationships with other businesses. If you are referred business by them they receive a 10% referral fee of the cost of the job. Is this legal in NJ?

You should not invest in a franchisee operation without consulting with a lawyer who will review the entire transaction and all the papers and advise you.
