Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

Business agreements

I'm looking to start a alcoholic beverage company. I would like to use an outside, well established brand to produce the alcohol. What sort of agreement must I establish with the producer in order to use there product?

Re: Business agreements

If by an "alcoholic beverage company" you mean a wholesaler or retailer of alcoholic beverages, you must first obtain a license from the State. Producers are prohibited from selling to unlicensed entities.

Re: Business agreements

There are many, many issues to deal with, to set up your business. You will need an attorney to assist, to help you get licensed, to help set up agreements with your producer and your customers (you have not said how you envision marketing your beverage, to whom and how), and likely with your landlord to rent the space for your operations.

You will also likely need an accountant to set up your books and tax and sales tax filings (cheaper than using an attorney to do the same).

Please call if you want an attorney's assistance. I never charge for the first call.

Good luck to you!
