if someone sign a contract without reading it are they bound to it?

Yes. Whether you choose to read the contract or not, if you are an adult you are bound by the contract. You should never sign a contract without having a competent business attorney look at it first. This is especially true for major purchases such as a home, boat, and business.

I agree with Ron. I do not know why people do this, and you are nor the first, nor will you be the last, who have done this. Your only recourse is if the contract has a recission period and this period has not passed, that allows you to rescind it. You provide no details on what the subject matter is and many types of contracts have "cooling off" periods, so this may be available if you act promptly.
