Business rent
I wanted to know what happens if a business was closed do to the town shutting us down until the landlord fixed sewer pipe in basement. We were closed for 6 days and lost more then what one month of rent is so we didnt pay this months rent. He wants his money and we are saying no. what can happen and who is right here.

This is the kind of dispute that needs some care. What does the lease say? What caused the sewer pipe to fail (most likely just old age, but you can never be sure), and who is at fault for this if anyone?
If you are found to be wrong, that you should have paid the rent, then you may lose a great deal. Maybe better to talk to a lawyer and get some advice before you decide to refuse to pay rent.
