Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

If a celebrity willingly agreed to allow me to video him saying my business slogan can I be sued if video is used to promote my business (not yet open - in startup phase, but business is an LLC)? They didn't sign a waiver or agreement. I basically walked up to them asked them to say the slogan on video and we went our separate ways. I'd like to use the video in a capital campaign, but want to know my rights. Thanks

You have not specified in what capacity nor what had preceeded the video, so a definitive answer cannot be provided. For example, you might just have run into the celebrity, engaged the person in a casual conversation, using the slogan in your conversation, and videoed while the person was repeating what you said. This would not constitute consent or permission to use the video and could be actionable without written permission. This seems to be the facts you presented. Thus, more facts about the circumstances leading up to the repeating of the slogan are needed for a response.
