Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

well i am a contractor who completed a paint job for a customer and now the customer is refusing to pay because he claims he had to pay cleaners 4 hours to remove paint on his kitchen floors and also claims that his drains are clogged and needs to wait on a plumber before because paint brushes were cleaned in his sinks, also is unhappy because the cabinets in his home need minor touch ups for which we offer to do for free at no cost to the customers as part of our 1 year guarantee. the contract clearly states that payment is due upon completion in the contract he refused to sign after a modification was made to paint the bottom floor of his unoccupied home. i want to know can i place him in breach of contract or go as far as placing a lean on his home ? i have photos that prove that the floors were completely covered due to the fact that he had wood floors.with exception of the kitchen as such is tile and easy to clean since the paint was water based

Consult a local attorney about placing a construction lien on the premises. Since the property is residential, you will have an up-front cost for an arbitrator to approve the form of the lien documents.
