Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

Directory Advertising

I'm a sole proprietor who disputes a bill for Phone Directory advertising. The directory listing was incorrect even after I signed a correct copy of the proof. I refused to pay the invoice. I've been sent to collections but haven't received any written correspondence from the collection agency but rather just phone calls. I've even requested a written bill from the collector with address to send the check and they refused. It doesn't even sound legit that they can simply harrass me without written documentation (other than the Phone Directories bills) What are the ramification of not paying them?

Re: Directory Advertising

if there is enough money involved, go see a lawyer. NO, you do not owe for a useless phone listing. they may assert that the error was unimportant, that you still owe. Do not write to them, and probably you should not talk to them until you see a lawyer. anything you write or say can be used against you.

their business office is stupid for not trying to make you happy, you are the unhappy, wronged customer with a bad phonebook listing.

If you would like, give me a call; I am in northern New Jersey. I will be happy to discuss this with you; the telephone consultation will be free.
