Can a employer keep your paycheck if you were let go from work and a tool from the work truck was missing.

No and you should see an attorney ASAP. I am actually going off to a court right now on a case along the lines of yours. My client didn't get an attorney right away and was later arrested and charged. Call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss.
