Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

Employer seperation reporting

I was laid off from a former employer due to lack of work and not job performance. A potential employer called to say that my former employer is reporting that I was fired for job performance. A request to correct my records with my former employer was denied. What is the best way to get my former employer to correct their records?

Re: Employer seperation reporting

Get an attorney to send a nasty letter. Should be quick and easy if it works.

Re: Employer seperation reporting

You need to hire a good attorney. Your attorney should first call the ex-employer to negotiate a letter of recommendation. If an agreement cannot be reached, the attorney will advise you on your choices, including litigation.

I hope this helps!
