If you have a cause of action against several parties, you are required to sue them in one law suit. In other words, you can't sue one defendant, see how that suit turns out, and then try another defendant. The purpose of the rule is to conserve judicial time by bringing a controversy to a conclusion at one time. Good luck in whatever action you intend. (Or was this just needed for your Civil Procedure final exam???)
