Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

New Hire - Company moving out of state

I am with my new company for two weeks. They just informed us that they are moving the offices to Philadelphia. During the interview, I was told that they were moving, but to another NJ location not far from the present NJ location.

This causes both a financial hardship for me as well as a 15 hour per week additional commute time if I move with them. Do I have any options in the way of seeking compensation for damages.

Re: New Hire - Company moving out of state

You might have some recourse. You must realize that as a new hire with 2 weeks on the job, if you fight them for compensation or money for the additional commute, you are likely to lose your job. To answer your question, I would need to know numerous facts, including: do you have any written contract or agreement with them concerning your employment? did you give up a job to join them?

Please let me know if I can assist you further.
