Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
I am an independent life insurance agent who worked for a firm in PA. I was terminated. Actually my father resigned and I was terminated because he resigned and my former company did not want the further expense of a practice out of state. In addition, he was overly concerned of me trying to steal clients or "badmouth" his company. My former company is witholding all my commisions until I sign an agreement to withhold money in escrow for expenses he incurred per client that I sold services to. This was never written in a previous agreement.
