Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
In new Jersey when some one (retail store) offers you some thing for free but says you have to but a certain amount in their store is that legal ?.

Sure, why not? They can't mislead or lie in the advertising if that is what you are insinuating, but it is lawful to offer a free item upon the purchase of another or condition the amount spent like they do with cosmetics (e.g, "this gift bag set free with $50 or greater purchase).

I agree. This is no different than when a store offers buy 1 and get 1 free, or similar offer. Offering something free conditioned on other requirements is a regular and usual way many businesses conduct their business.
