Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
A mortgage broker/banker started working with me to get me qualified. When she ran my credit report, she found that there was a tax lien and asked me for an explaination. The next day, I meet my realtor and told him that I am running into issues with my credit and he quickly interrupted me and said "yes, I know, Cathy (the mortgage banker) told me all about the tax lien" I was shocked because I did not want to announce this to the whole world. I just wanted pick up the phone and scream my lungs out at Cathy for giving out this confidential information. This was not supposed to leave her office. Even the realtor is not interested in my business as much now. What can I do? Can I sew her company? do I have a case?

A tax lien on property is a public record.
