Oral Promise to Pay
Is an oral promise to pay my brother-in-law for my sister's grave stone enforceable?

Just because an agreement is oral, it does not mean it is unenforceable. If you agreed to pay for the headstone, and your brother-in-law reasonably relied on it, the agreement should be enforceable. In any event, it is probably much wiser to simply live up to your promise.
